Cookie Cat
So I decided to get a little friend to keep me company so I won't be alone. Based on my situation I cannot give a permanent home for a cat because am a temporary resident myself. Cats need a permanent place to live. So instead of adopting, I decided to give foster home until they find permanent home.
To cut the story short I finally found a little cat after waiting almost 3 weeks. The three weeks was WORTH IT. She is less than a year old, playful, well behaved and in fact if I say no to her she really understands what I am asking her to do. A little angel that's what she is. When I come home, I always have a little friend waiting for me. I know she wants her treats, but nevertheless she is waiting for me to give it to her...I got attached to her. By the way, I was told that cookie has rare color for a female. Tabby females dont come with orange color.
Anyway, it took her a day or two to adjust. She didn't like the noise around her. She didn't like the sound of dishwasher, the sound of washing machine, the sound of car moving outside the apartment and other things I do around the apartment. But finally she got the idea that she is totally safe.
Sunday was her doctor visit. So I prepared her, fed her and sent her with the wonderful people from the cat rescue organization (www.CittyKitties.org). I know it's just a routine test, nothing unusual. She will be happy when it's all done.....or at least I thought it would be. She was diagnosed with a cat Leukemia. She was put to sleep...yes, she left me to go to heaven.
Be safe. Be happy. God will take care of you. You are just a little baby, and always will be.
P.S. Thank you Louisa, Lori & Seychelle for giving me the chance to help cookie, it was all worth it.

oh shak! i am sooooooooooooooooooo sorry to hear about cookie cat! she looks so adorably cute in the picture :( feline leukemia is a horrible disease...but i am sure that she feels lucky for the time that she spent in your house & for the love that you gave her during her short life i had a friend who rescued a cat & then lost it to feline leukemia so i know that it must be so sad to get attached to a cat & then have to give her up...but like you say, she is in heaven & you still have good memories. i would give you a call to see if you need some1 to talk to but i dont know if it is too late to call...maybe i will try anyway...i m o g e n
I only met Cookie Cat recently -- she spent the night in my guest room before going to the clinic, where the doctors discovered her feline leukemia. After only a night, I could tell what a special cat she was. She'd figured out a way to perch on a one inch wide bar under the sofa, which struck me as a particularly impressive trick. I could also tell -- because cats know how to communicate such things -- that she felt happy and loved. That's all we can really give them sometimes. You helped a stray cat enjoy a sunny and safe life for the time she had. Now she's in a sunny window in the afterlife, thinking that she's lucky to have known you.
I'm so sorry this happened.
